SmartLab Changing Lives in Hernando, Mississippi
With all the impressive achievements by SmartLab learners, it’s easy to mistake it as a program intended only for gifted and talented students.
In fact, the personalized learning in the SmartLab HQ empowers and motivates all students. Learners choose an appropriate level of challenge, adapt projects to their interests and learning styles, and take their learning as far as they are able.
The DeSoto County Literacy Council Center in Hernando, Mississippi is part of the North Mississippi Corridor Consortium of Community Colleges. The Center includes a SmartLab HQ as a core element in their workforce retaining, literacy, and GED programs.
SmartLab helps students develop problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking skills while they learn to apply professional-standard technologies.
“It’s a great way to open our doors and help students think outside the box,” said DeSoto County Literacy Council Executive Director, Beth Little. “It’s a gem sitting here in the city of Hernando.”
