A Sneak Peek into Our Online Conference

We know that this summer, many of you will be moving from emergency remote learning to high-quality online learning and we’re here to help with that transition.

If you’ve been reading our Friday blogs, you know we’re excited for our upcoming 1-day online conference. While we always provide professional development to support personalized, student-directed, project-based learning, we’ve designed this conference to help you provide this kind of experience in digital and blended learning models. 

We asked our presenters from around the country to share their experiences and successes around SmartLab Learning and how that works in the digital space. Read on to get a sneak peek of some of the sessions.

SmartLabs Across the District: Supporting and Aligning SmartLab Learning

Flipping Your SmartLab

“Wanting to take your Smartlab beyond the structure of a yearly Instructional Score? Instead of starting with the tools to create a project, students start with a shared problem. The Smartlab evolves into a makerspace and laboratory for budding engineers. 

–Teach students to plan and execute their own projects based on engineering practices and real-world problems.

–Use current events and engineering disciplines to create lessons for students K–6. 

–Give students design templates to help take them through the engineering design process. 

–Teach students to be more agile problem solvers using Scrum framework.”

Regardless of your experience with SmartLab Learning or role in your school, there’s something for you at the SmartLab eLearning 1-Day Online Conference. We invite you to join us for a day of learning and collaboration as we all prepare for the next school year.

• WHEN: June 23rd, 10:00 am–6:00 pm (EDT)
• WHO: SmartLab Facilitators and supporting educators (administrators, classroom teachers, curriculum coaches, and STEM directors), educators who have used our digital learning curriculum, or educators who are keen on gaining new skills
• WHAT: 19 live sessions and a collection of pre-recorded sessions; session recordings will be accessible through August 31, 2020*
