STEM careers become more meaningful when students can see how classroom learning connects to the real world. At Hirsch Elementary, students in the Campos Foundation-funded SmartLab explored hands-on challenges while hearing directly from STEM professionals about careers in engineering, healthcare, energy, education, and other fields that rely on creativity, collaboration, and problem solving.
The experience reinforced that STEM is everywhere and that every student has the potential to make an impact. With support from the Campos Foundation and SmartLab’s ready-to-use, challenge-based curriculum, students are building confidence, developing critical thinking skills, and discovering exciting possibilities for their futures.
