John Glenn High School’s Brand New SmartLab

At John Glenn High School in Bangor Township, Michigan, SmartLab is giving students a new way to experience STEM.

In this brand-new course, students engage in hands-on labs designed around career-connected, transferable skills. Through guided challenges and open exploration, they dive into coding, 3D printing, engineering design, video game development, and renewable energy projects like building solar-powered cars.

What makes SmartLab different? As students share in this video, it is the opportunity to work directly with emerging technologies in ways most traditional classes do not offer. They are not just learning about STEM. They are building, testing, designing, and discovering what they are capable of.

Watch how SmartLab is helping students explore technology, expand their skills, and see new possibilities for their future.
